Parts Bum Fights was hilarious. Whereas teenage pukes slapping each other like pansies wasn’t all that entertaining, Rufus was born for the camera and almost all of his scenes were classic. He enjoyed every moment of fame, and all he’s doing now is lining an opportunistic lawyer’s pockets for the same reason he participated in the film to begin with: he’s starving to death on a daily basis and somebody is offering him money. Nobody was killed, either, in the making of the movie I should point out.

The subsequent violence that happens simply cannot be legally tacked on the filmmakers. As the population swells, violence increases accordingly. Mortalities are regrettable, yes. But let me remind you that this is America and you cannot mess with constitutional rights and expect to win. I know Big Daddy Messiah would have you censoring reality, but you’re several decades too late. Perhaps the teenagers that beat homeless men to death were inspired through reading how Samson killed a thousand Philistines with a donkey’s jawbone in the bible, or how the Christians burned innocent Jews alive during the black death to appease their God so that he would subside the pestilence.

Get off your shock and outrage pedestal and let accountability be attributed to the individuals and the instances. Nobody owes you anything and your magick Jesus isn’t coming. For crying out loud, think about it. Maybe if you took a tenth of the energy that you expend on religion mortgaging your entire life because you’re too bored, frightened or simply uncreative to find other ways to spend it.. maybe if you took that energy and used it to help and love people or appreciate and improve the planet, maybe you’d be making a stronger impact to make the world a safer, more humane place as opposed to setting your standards up to a point where you cannot possibly go through a day without being offended by every media event or condescending upon and badgering somebody who is minding their own business with bitter evangelical droll or running away and hiding behind some fictional parochial control implemented comic book superhero instead of coping with and correcting your fears and pitfalls.

You idolize a 2,000 year old dead guy from times that hardly have a trace of pertinence towards the desperate contemporary your radical fascist witch-burning right-wing sect has created.

Get a new role model.

Maybe try starting with yourself.
